| "Before
attending the coxing clinic, my coxswains
simply saw themselves as the two people
in our boathouse who didn’t row.
They came home identifying themselves as
part of a community of coxswains –
a group worthy of coaching, enthusiasm,
and time. It was a validating and
empowering experience for them. They
came back ready to take their job and struggles
more seriously."
Stephanie Moore, director of Holyoke Rows

"I am glad to see a safety clinic like
this. There have been too many incidents
in our sport that are not necessary.
Good
luck with it."

I
found the trailer training workshop to be
extremely helpful. It provided me with
a great deal of information concerning insurance
liability, how to determine the proper type
of trailer, types of towing vehicle considerations,
and stabilization equipment, just to mention
a few of the important items covered.
It was great that the workshop was well
attended with individuals from various experience
levels. from the least experienced like
me, to those with a vast amount of knowledge
that they were willing to share. Thanks
for putting together a comprehensive and
useful program.

Hello
Margot and Mark,
The
Trailer Driving and Boat Transport
workshop is what I would now
consider an absolute necessity if
one is to be driving a shell trailer
of any size.
The amount of subject matter covered
in the 3 hours was incredible.
Everything one could think of, plus
all the stuff never thought of or
either forgotten, was included in
both the presentation and documentation.
Safety, cost, legal documentation
on shell trailering, and some not
so common, common sense was reviewed
in meticulous detail.
I have been driving a shell trailer
for two years without incident but
feel I still learn something new every
time I take the trailer on the roadways.
Had I taken this course beforehand,
I would not have had to learn most
of what I now know the slow and hard
way.
The documentation is perfect to aid
in passing on one's own trailer driving
know-how to another member of your
team or club if need be, helping to
prevent that whole, not-sure-what-I'm-doing-but-I'll-try-driving,
situation that often happens when
there is a need for a shell trailer
driver. I also suggest that
this course has benefits for first
timers as well as long time drivers.
There are many little tricks and methods
of making trailering safer and easier
presented in this workshop.
The presenters of the workshop are seasoned
shell trailer drivers and have been there
and seen everything and share their personal
trailer driving hardship and success stories.
It's like they have Ph.D.s in shell transport.
The cost of the course is ridiculously
miniscule considering the knowledge and
documentation, not to mention the hands-on
training at the end. No one can
know too much or really ever enough about
how to safely transport our precious and
fragile boats. This workshop is
a no brainer.
